Public Affairs Manager (temp) - Wwe - Stamford CT

WWE, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Public Affairs professional to join our PR & Corporate Communications team for approximately six months, and possibly lead to a full-time employee position.

This person will develop and execute CSR, PR, Corporate Communications, and Public Affairs programs and partnerships, and evaluate the value of these relationships as they relate to WWE?s overall business objectives and vision. The position holder will also represent WWE to the media, strategic partners, charitable organizations, and elected officials.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day operations of public affairs / corporate communications activities
* Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with elected officials, charitable organizations, and trade associations; and monitor/ influence pending issues
* Work with in-house team members and outside strategic partners to develop, implement and manage internal and external communications to broaden exposure of all WWE businesses
* Manage the company?s involvement in public and charitable grassroots initiatives
* Monitor and evaluate pending legislative and regulatory issues, as well as industry news and media coverage of issues that are of interest to the company
* Play a role in crisis communication efforts including on-call responsibilities and special project initiatives
* Develop and implement media relations strategies and write press releases
* Develop and foster relationships with media contacts covering charitable and political issues and a wide range of corporate issues and initiates
* Organize and coordinate on a national and local level press conferences and public appearances by senior management and WWE talent
* Work on social media campaigns for WWE?s corporate social responsibility programs
* Develop content for internal communications initiatives
* Update and create content for WWE corporate website
* Keep abreast of WWE products and storylines, as well as entertainment, media and sports industry trends, to actively seek new ''out of the box'' publicity opportunities

Requirements:
* 5-7 years of experience with government agency or a company that interacts with government and non-profit agencies
* In-depth understanding of how state legislatures work
* Established relationships with public officials and community leaders as well as non-profit organizations
* Established and diverse media contacts in both national and local print, TV, radio, and digital media outlets
* Experience handling crisis communications
* Strong interview preparation skills
* Lobbying experience with state and federal elected officials
* Able to effectively handle multiple, diverse tasks within tight timeframes
* Able to work well with C-suite executive and celebrity talent
* Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
* Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Able to work independently using good business judgment
* Able to travel as needed (approximately 20%)
* Bachelor degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Communications, Political Science, or related field of study
